Liverpool striker Dutch international Cody Jacobo expressed his joy at the big win his team scored 6-1 over Leeds United on Matchday 31 of the English Premier League yesterday, Monday.

Jacobo scored the first goal for Liverpool, paving the way for his team’s victory after he stumbled in his last five matches in all competitions.

“Everyone knows that this season we have suffered a bit in the matches we have played away from home,” Jacopo said in a statement to the Liverpool website after the meeting with Leeds.

He continued: “We have to repeat the same level as against Leeds. This is a good step in the right direction.”

He added: “Especially in the matches we play outside of our country, the first goal is important to boost morale and calm the opposition fans, and we did it well, and then we scored a beautiful goal from Mohamed Salah, and in the second half we went score and excel at it.”

He noted: “We won the meeting, but now we must look forward, we must win the next meeting. I think everyone is happy for Jota, he scored two goals and he deserves it thanks to the hard work he does in every match. .”

He concluded by saying: “We have a lot of options in the top three and it’s good for us to show what we can do in every game.”

With this win, Liverpool lifted their tally to 47 points in eighth place to keep their slim hope of qualifying for the Champions League next season, finishing fourth in the Premier League table.

On the other hand, Leeds United were left with 29 points in 16th place.
