Members of the UN Security Council welcomed the recent visit of two delegations from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman to the Yemeni city of Sana’a. – Continued Kingdom and Oman support for United Nations mediation efforts.
Members stated: “These talks represent valuable steps towards achieving a comprehensive ceasefire and inclusive Yemeni-Yemeni political negotiations under the auspices of the United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen, based on the agreed terms of reference and in accordance with the relevant Security Council resolution.” resolution.
The members of the Council called on the Yemeni parties to continue the dialogue and engage constructively in the peace process and negotiate in good faith.
In their statement, members stressed their continued support for efforts to reach a political settlement and ultimately end the suffering of the Yemeni people.
