Preparations have been completed for geological coal in Zonguldak, A.; city in Black Sea regionand with cooperation of Turkish National Committee for UNESCO and Zonguldak Province in the “International Workshop” of Geopark Management”, which was held between April 29 and May 1.

Speaking at the opening of The workshop, Zonguldak Governor Mustafa Tutulmaz said that Zonguldak, which has gained importance with discovery of hard coal, also To be noticed with Its historical, cultural and natural beauty.

“Important step It has been taken in Geological studies, which began to strengthen Zonguldak, to provide sectoral diversification, to develop tourism, and ensure economical and sustainable social development of “Our boycott,” Tutulmaz said.

In addition, this workshop aims to raise awareness about management and sustainability of Parks, open the door to international Collaboration opportunities.

Tutulmaz noted that advertising of Zonguldak Coal Geopark, which work seem in 2018, as a “National Geopark” by the Tuskih National Commission for UNESCO is important milestone.

opening ceremony of The workshop was attended by Mayor of Zonguldak Ömer Selim Alan, Turkish National Committee. for Vice-President of UNESCO, Nizamettin Kazanci, and Rector of Zonguldak University Bulent Ecevit, Ismail Hakki Özülçer.
