Qatar Applauds Sudan’s Military Forces for Signing the Jeddah Declaration

The State of Qatar welcomed the signing by the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces yesterday in Jeddah of a declaration of initial principles for the promotion of humanitarian action to meet the needs of the civilian population. In today’s statement, the Foreign Ministry expressed Qatar’s desire for the declaration to pave the way for a permanent and comprehensive end to military conflict and engagement. After that, in broad negotiations involving all Sudanese political forces with the goal of the people for stability, development and prosperity.

The ministry reaffirmed Qatar’s position calling for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Sudan, the exercise of maximum restraint, appeal to the voice of reason and giving priority to the public interest.

The Ministry also expressed its gratitude to the State of Qatar for the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States of America to facilitate negotiations and their good offices to end the conflict and achieve stability in Sudan.
