The Saudi Arabian athletics team, in the presence of the Deputy Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Tunisia, Ibrahim Al-Gharib, won three medals at the competitions on the second day of the first Arab Championships in athletics among youth under 23, held in the Tunisian city of Rades. Two players, Nasser Mahmoud, won the gold medal in the 100m, player Mohammed Al-Zayer won the gold medal in the hammer game, and player Baker Al-Jumaa was crowned the silver medal in the 110 hurdles.
The Secretary General of the Arab Federation of Athletics and Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Saudi Federation, Dr. Abdul-Ilah Al-Salwi, confirmed to the Saudi Press Agency that such tournaments organized by the Arab Federation usually give players the opportunity to interact with each other and compete with each other on level of the Arab world, emphasizing that it is beneficial to the elements. The Saudi Arabian team, especially the youth, is striving to gain more experience and prepare for various upcoming international events.
Dr. Al-Selawi praised the technical level of the championship and the outstanding organization of the championship by the Tunisian Athletics Federation, which will end next Wednesday.
