KSrelief removes 849 mines laid by Houthi militia in Yemen
During the fifth week of May 2023, the King Salman Humanitarian and Relief Center (KSrelief) project to clear Yemeni lands managed to remove 849 mines laid by the Houthi militia in various regions of Yemen. The mines cleared included 16 anti-personnel mines, 124 anti-tank mines, and 708 unexploded ordnance and one explosive device.
Masam clears mines in different regions of Yemen
Group<Масам>> cleared 6 anti-tank mines in Aden governorate and one unexploded ordnance in Kataba district in Al-Dalia governorate. Additionally, two anti-tank mines – 9 anti-tank mines and 28 unexploded ordnance were cleared in Hayes district in Al Hudaydah governorate. Furthermore, 80 anti-tank mines and 401 unexploded a projectile were cleared in the Ragwan district of the governorate of Marib and two anti-tank projectiles. Two tank mines were cleared in Asilan district, Shabwa governorate, and 14 anti-personnel mines, 27 anti-tank mines, 278 unexploded ordnance, and one explosive device were cleared in Dhubab district, Taiz governorate.
Masam clears 1,316 naval mines in Bab el-Mandab Strait
Masam also cleared 1,316 naval mines in the Bab el-Mandab Strait. The number of mines cleared during May reached 4,838, and the number of mines cleared since the start of the Masam project reached 400,000, with 919 mines planted indiscriminately by Houthi militias across Yemen.

The Kingdom, represented by its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Relief Center, continues the project to clear Yemeni lands of mines and help Yemeni brothers lead a decent life. The project has made significant progress so far, but there is still a long way to go to ensure the safety of Yemeni citizens and their access to basic necessities.
