YouTube joins AI startup Aloud to break language barriers

Introduction

YouTube is set to revolutionize video duplication technology with the help of Aloud, an AI-based startup from Google’s internal incubator, Area 120. Aloud’s solution automatically creates duplicate videos, making it easier for creators to create versions of videos in other languages. This move is expected to make content accessible to a larger audience, breaking language barriers.

Make the video available to more Internet users

Aloud’s technology has been tested by several hundred creators on YouTube and is currently compatible with English, Spanish, and Portuguese. However, support for other languages is expected to come later. The operation of the technology is simple: first, the video is transcribed. The creator then edits the transcription and makes corrections, if necessary. The technology takes care of the translation, transcription, and dubbing, and the creator can publish the video. Smaller authors are expected to benefit the most from Aloud’s solution, and Internet users will have access to a greater amount of content available in their languages.

Google Incubator Success Model

Area 120, Google’s internal incubator, has been around for years, but not all projects end up integrating with Mountain View’s flagship products. However, Aloud, one of the most promising projects, has survived the cut. Google’s decision to cut costs and close some startups from Area 120 has not affected the most promising projects, including Aloud.

Conclusion

YouTube’s integration with Aloud is set to change the video duplication landscape, making it easier for creators to reach a larger audience. The move is expected to break language barriers and make content accessible to all. The partnership with Aloud is expected to be a success, thanks to Google’s internal incubator, Area 120, which has given birth to many successful projects, including Aloud.
