Atlus Plans to Remake Persona 1 and Persona 2

Atlus recently announced Persona 3 Reload, a remake of the classic Persona 3 title, something fans have been long hoping for, but it’s not the only Persona title fans would want to see given this treatment.

The first two games in the Persona series, for example, are both ripe for remakes, and according to leaker MbKKssTBhz5 on Twitter, Atlus agrees, and would like to give Persona 1 and Persona 2 the remake treatment they deserve.

Question 3:

Are you really sure there are no other remakes in development at Atlus?

Answer:

Atlus and Sega are experimenting with many remake ideas for different franchises. But there is nothing in end production like P3RE right now. Atlus really wants to make a P1/P2 remake.

Officially, the only remake in production is Persona 3 Reload, though it could just be the case that Atlus is waiting until it gets Persona 3 Reload out the door, or close enough to that, before it begins work on another remake.

Persona 1 and 2 are the most dated games of the series, and by the same token are the biggest playgrounds for Atlus to be creative in how it brings both these classics into the modern era.

It could even be that based on how well Persona 3 Reload does, Atlus will then decide if it wants to move forward with remakes of 1 and 2. At this point, everything is still just a rumour, so we’ll have to wait and see.
