You may know with see igloos in The arctic. So don’t be surprised when you see one in the heart of Istanbul in Turkey during recent heavy snowfall. It’s true, a group of residents in The city took advantage of heavy snowfall and built an igloo in their neighborhood of Sultangazi.
All eyes were on the igloo as a neighborhood children enjoyed themselves while residents brewed Turkish tea (of course) inside the igloo. The residents also took a souvenir photo with the igloo, even if it doesn’t quite look like real one.
An igloo is a type of shelter built of snow generally used by the Inuit of Canada and Greenland (Eskimos). Among the Inuit language igloo refers to all types of dwellings.
Declaring that the idea of building a house came from him, “We decided to do something interesting like while everyone is making a snowman. We wanted make a change together with the children. The idea of building a house comes from me,” said Ömer Mutlu, a local resident.
Another resident, Recep Torun, said: “We all got together and built this. We invented our house while everyone is making a snowman. We made tea in our samovar. the weather has been also pleasant.”
