The Turkish State Meteorological Service (TSMS) has warned that the Marmara region, where Turkey is most populated city Istanbul is located, will be exposed to a new cold front with precipitation from Thursday.

Combined heavy rainfall with occasional snowfall hit the region. Periods of cold and rain will bring down on a wider area from Edirne in northwest to Sakarya in ballast of the region, according to TSMS. A vague of snowfall is forecast for Friday. Istanbul will see occasional snowfall up to next Tuesday, but experts expect it to be lower in force compared to last snow episode of the week for the city.

Istanbul was hit per four days of snowfall that only receded on Monday. It wasn’t as strong as two days of precipitation that has stopped life in The city in January but sometimes disrupted traffic.

TSMS also warned of a vague national day of cold and rain which begins in the middle of next week.

The hot spring weather will also skip other big cities. Sporadic snowfall is expected for the capital Ankara from Thursday, with temperatures drop sharply below seasonal normal throughout the week. Istanbul goes also see the temperatures below seasonal norms in the same period. The country’s third largest province, Izmir, will have son share of prolonged winter but no snowfall expected. The weather will be cloudy with sporadic rainfall in the province throughout the week according to data from TSMS.
