The backlash began when Latina actress Rachel Zegler was chosen to play the role of Snow White. The claims made in the X post led many to believe that Zegler had been fired from the Disney remake. This resulted in Disney fan blog InsidetheMagic publishing an article with the headline “Disney Reportedly Fires Rachel Zegler from ‘Snow White’ Live Action.” Additionally, a TikTok user named Wood & Rustle made allegations that Disney fired Zegler over accusations of her being difficult to work with and criticized her personality in interviews. However, these claims lacked a credible source and remained as nothing more than rumors.
Debunking the Exaggerated Rumors
Fortunately, websites like Distractify and Snopes have debunked the exaggerated rumors. They clarified that Zegler’s recasting in Paddington 3 had nothing to do with her professionalism. Instead, it was due to her involvement with SAG-AFTRA, which was on strike during the British movie’s production. Reports of her no longer being part of the highly anticipated Snow White remake were unrelated to her commitment to the Disney film.
Rachel Zegler’s Response and Confirmation
Amidst the rumors, Rachel Zegler possibly made light of the situation with a cryptic X post on Twitter. She wrote, “The rumors are true

Regardless of the rumors, fans can be relieved that Rachel Zegler will indeed be starring as “The Fairest of Them All” in Snow White. The film has already completed filming, as confirmed by Zegler herself on X in July 2022. Therefore, it is highly unlikely for her to be removed from the production at this stage.
