President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone call with son Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Thursday evening, in which he repeated the offer to reunite him with Ukrainian President Volodymyr for talks in Ankara or Istanbul.
In the call who came in the middle of the current Russia invasion of Ukraine, Erdogan also stressed that Turkey has been sincere in his efforts to find a solution to the ongoing conflict, as the two presidents discussed latest developments in the region and the humanitarian situation on ground.
Erdogan also told Putin that a ceasefirefire will lead to a long-term solution, and that he hopes that the talks between Ukrainian and Russian leaders will bear fruit.
The Turkish leader also told Putin that the humanitarian situation on ground should be assessed and the humanitarian corridors should be managed effectively.
Wednesday, Erdoğan also held a phone call with son Ukrainian counterpart Zelenskyy.
Erdoğan pointed out out that “war does not profit anyone”, and Turkey will continue its efforts to establish a dialogue between the two parties while emphasizing the importance of humanitarian corridors.
President also told Zelenskyy that Turkey continues to make diplomatic efforts to restore peace between Russia and Ukraine and aims to achieve a permanent ceasefire.fire like soon like possible.
