Netflix is set to expand its anime library in November 2026 with the debut of two high-profile projects that represent significant milestones for the industry. The upcoming slate is anchored by the steampunk western Bass X Machina and the eco-horror adaptation Fool Night, alongside the continuation of ongoing weekly series.
The month begins with a focus on historical reimagining before shifting toward a dystopian release at the end of November. These titles highlight major collaborations, including the first-ever joint project between industry titans Sunrise and Shaft.

Bass X Machina: A Steampunk Reimagining
Scheduled for release on November 3, 2026, Bass X Machina is a high-concept series created by LeSean Thomas and produced by Studio Mir. The Netflix anime slate confirmed the November date following presentations at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.
The series reimagines the life of Bass Reeves, the historical figure known as the first Black U.S. Marshal west of the Mississippi River. In this version, Reeves is cast into a lawless world filled with steampunk technology and supernatural terrors. Brian Tyree Henry provides the voice for Reeves. The production by Studio Mir continues the studio’s long-standing relationship with the streaming platform.
Fool Night: Dystopian Eco-Horror
Arriving on November 26, 2026, Fool Night is a worldwide premiere based on the acclaimed manga by Kasumi Yasuda. The story is set in a future where the Earth has been plunged into a “thick cloud” era, cutting off sunlight and causing plant life to wither. To sustain the oxygen supply, the government implements a process known as “transfloration,” where terminally ill humans are turned into oxygen-producing plants.
The Fool Night anime adaptation marks the first collaboration between Sunrise (the studio behind Mobile Suit Gundam) and Shaft (known for the Monogatari series and Puella Magi Madoka Magica).

Weekly Series and Ongoing Releases
While the two major premieres bookend the month, Netflix will continue to air its existing weekly series throughout November. Fans of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run can expect new episodes to drop every Friday. The adaptation of the fan-favorite Seventh Part of the long-running franchise has maintained a consistent weekly schedule since its launch, bridging the gap between the month’s tentpole releases.
The November lineup reflects a strategic focus on diverse genres, moving from the action-heavy Western aesthetics of Bass X Machina to the slow-burn psychological horror and social commentary found in Fool Night. By securing exclusive worldwide streaming rights for these titles, the platform continues its push for high-concept, studio-led collaborations.
