Masam cleared more than 1,500 mines in Yemeni territories in a week

During the second week of April 2022, the Center for Humanitarian Aid and Assistance to King Salman “Masam” managed to clear 1,529 mines laid by the Houthi militia in various regions of Yemen, including 9 anti-personnel mines, 734 anti-tank mines and 763 unexploded ordnance, explosives and 23 explosive devices.

The Masam team cleared 298 anti-tank mines and 242 unexploded ordnance in Aden Governorate, two anti-personnel mines in the Katab area in Al-Dali governorate, two anti-personnel mines and one anti-tank mine in the Al-Huha area, Al-Dali. Hodeidah Governorate, one anti-personnel mine and 3 anti-tank mines and 3 unexploded ordnance in Hayes Governorate in the same governorate.

This brings the number of mines cleared so far during April to 2,973, bringing the number of mines cleared since the start of the Masam project to 332,510 mines, which have been indiscriminately planted by Houthi militias across Yemen to demand more innocent victims. children, women and the elderly, while continuing the Kingdom represented by the King Salman Relief Center through the Yemeni Landmine Clearance Project and helping Yemeni brothers lead a decent life.
