The leadership of the Brazilian club “Botafogo” rejected the idea of negotiations with the goalkeeper “Al-Ittihad” Marcelo Groe.

Brazilian press reports have linked Botafogo and Groe in the latest period when the Brazilian club wants to strengthen their goalkeeper with an outstanding goalkeeper, and Marcelo Groe was the closest thing to them, especially after his remarkable brilliance with Al Ittihad.

Brazilian press reports cite that the Botavjo Club management acknowledged that Grohe’s contract with Al-Ittihad was still valid, at a time when it would not be able to terminate the contract and pay the penalty clause, so it decided to abandon the journey and look for another alternative that will be available during this period.

Last September, Al Ittihad announced a contract extension with Marcelo Grohe until the end of the 2022/23 season.

Veteran Brazilian Groe became the federation’s first goalkeeper since joining the team in the 2019 winter transfers from Grêmio.

In this regard, the goalkeeper close to the federal said that Grove’s entire focus at the current period is on training and preparing for a decisive turning point in the Prince Mohammed bin Salman Cup league, which is scheduled to resume next month.

They also stressed that Grohe is currently oblivious to any talk of offers because all his focus is on crowning Al Ittihad’s season with a league title, especially after the tremendous effort put in by the team’s players throughout this entire season, and efforts must be redoubled in the remaining five matches to meet the aspirations of federal fans to respond. Players have them as part of their team support throughout the season.

In this regard, Al Ittihad players continue to train in preparation for the second friendly match scheduled for next Sunday against Al Hazm, in accordance with the training program during the current suspension period.
