Ralf Rangnick, the interim German manager of Manchester United, will take charge of the Austrian national team from May next year, the Austrian Football Association announced today.
“We are very pleased that by hiring Ralf Rangnick, we have attracted a leading expert in the field of international football,” Gerhard Miletich, President of the Austrian Federation, said in a statement.
Rangnick has signed a two-year contract with the Austrian federation, which will be automatically renewed for another two years if he manages to take the national team to the 2024 European Cup in his home country, Germany.

Rangnik, 63, will manage the Austrian national team at the end of May against Croatia, Denmark and France in the European Nations League after the end of the English Premier League competition.
Dutch manager Eric Ten Hag, current manager of Ajax Amsterdam, will take over from Rangnick as manager of Manchester United from next season.
