Turkish security forces arrested 18 suspects on Wednesday in about arms smuggling in an operation in Diyarbakır province in eastern Turkey.

The suspects who made unfair profit by marketing and supplying weapons to criminal organizations have been identified.
The research in the suspects homes and workplaces also revealed a number of pistols and 780 packs of illegal cigarettes. Police seized long-barreled rifles, 29 pistols, 47 magazines, 1,561 cartridges of various diameters, 48 pistol grips and five gun boxes.
A separate and simultaneous arms smuggling operation was also tenuous in the eastern provinces of Van and Bitlis on Tuesday. One person has been arrested in an anti-smuggling operation carried out out by units of the direction provincial security. security forces also seized four rifles, two rifles, 64 cartridges, gun spare parts, a hunting knife, a drill, a hammer and a vise, during the search of that of the suspect house.
