Egyptian authorities said at least 22 people died and 33 were injured in a car accident that occurred on Tuesday near Minya province in southern Egypt.
And local authorities in Minya announced in a statement that the accident happened early Tuesday morning when a passenger bus collided with a parked truck on a highway linking the capital Cairo and the south of the country.
A bus carrying 45 passengers collided with a parked truck near the village of Al-Barsha in Minya province, about 300 kilometers south of the Egyptian capital Cairo. The provincial government said in a statement that the truck “was parked on the side of the road to have a tire changed and was hit from behind by a bus traveling from Sohag province towards Cairo province.”
The provincial authorities said the wounded were taken to the Mallawi hospital for treatment and that the governor, Maj. Gen. Osama al-Qadi, who examined the site of the clash, was on his way to the hospital “for a health check”. wounded and check the availability of necessary medical care.
