The Kingdom is providing a $30 million grant to support the Afghanistan Humanitarian Aid Trust Fund.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced a $30 million grant to support the Afghanistan Humanitarian Trust Fund, which operates under the auspices of the Islamic Development Bank in coordination with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, to complement the humanitarian and relief efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its active and a pioneering role in providing all forms of assistance to sister countries and friends through the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid and the Saudi Development Fund to help alleviate the suffering of the Afghan people and reduce the risks of worsening the critical humanitarian situation and possible economic collapse in Afghanistan, which could affect on regional and international peace and stability.

The grant was signed today at the headquarters of the King Salman Relief and Relief Center in Riyadh in the presence of: His Excellency Counselor to the Royal Court, Director General of the King Salman Relief and Relief Center, Dr. K. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabia , His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Al-Jasser, President, Islamic Development Bank, and President, Executive Director, Saudi Development Fund, Sultan bin Abdul Rahman Al-Murshed, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Dr. Saleh bin Hamad Al-Suhaibani, Special Envoy of the Secretary-General Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Afghanistan Ambassador Tariq Ali Bakhit and head of the Islamic Development Bank Trust Fund engineer Muhammad Al-Saati.

This grant is a continuation of the air and land bridges of assistance provided by the Kingdom in the recent period to the brotherly Afghan people and has supported them over the past decades for a number of projects in Afghanistan, including humanitarian, medical, educational, water and food security worth more than one billion rials on the basis of awareness of their responsibility and role in ensuring the security and prosperity of Afghanistan and its brotherly people.
