The countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf emphasized the importance of maintaining the security and stability of Sudan, calling on all parties to make more efforts to reach a comprehensive consensus that meets the aspirations of the brotherly Sudanese people and provides a sustainable solution to the current political crisis.
In a speech to the Human Rights Council by the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the United Nations in Geneva, Dr. Abdulaziz Al Wasel, on behalf of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf during the discussion of the situation in Sudan today, he commended the efforts of the United Nations, the African Union and the Intergovernmental Development Authority (IFAD) aimed at pushing the Sudanese spectrum into political dialogue to end the crisis and establish a civilian transitional authority.
The GCC countries commended the efforts made by Sudan and its cooperation with human rights mechanisms, emphasizing the important role of providing technical support to ensure accountability and the promotion and protection of human rights in line with the priorities of the Government of the Sudan. .
She stressed the need to respect the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of brotherly Sudan, calling on the international community and all stakeholders to make a positive contribution and support efforts aimed at restoring political stability, overcoming all challenges and realizing the aspirations of the brotherly Sudanese people.
