The English Football Association has decided to punish German Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp for what happened in his match against away Manchester City (1:0) on October 16 as part of the 11th round of the Premier League.
And today, Thursday, the FA said in a statement: “Jurgen Klopp has been fined £30,000 for violating FA rules during Liverpool’s Premier League match against Manchester City on 16 October 2022.”
He added: “The coach admitted that his behavior in the 86th minute was inappropriate, which is why the independent disciplinary committee imposed this punishment on him during the hearing.”
Klopp received a red card after he quarreled with an assistant referee for not counting a foul in favor of Egyptian star Mohamed Salah after Portugal’s Bernardo Silva handicapped him.
Klopp said after the match that he was not proud of his handling of the shot and that he really deserved a suspension.
Liverpool can still appeal against the punishment imposed on the German coach.
