American voters cast their ballots in the country’s midterm elections amid a fierce race between Republicans and Democrats for control of Congress in its two houses, the Senate and the House of Representatives.

Parliament:
195 Republicans vs. 176 Democrats
Senate:
48 Republicans vs. 48 Democrats
It is too early to say what results are expected in the states of Nevada, Georgia, Wisconsin, Arizona and Alaska.
Control of both houses of Congress is at stake as state polls close at 1am ET (9am Mecca time).
