Senegal has been dealt a painful blow after French reports announced yesterday, Wednesday, the absence of Senegal captain and Bayern Munich star Sadio Mane due to an injury he suffered the day before yesterday.
French newspaper L’Equipe said in a report that Senegalese star Sadio Mano will miss the World Cup due to injury.
Mane was forced to miss his team’s match against Werder Bremen on Tuesday at the Allianz Arena as part of the 14th round of the German league.
About 20 minutes into the match, Mane complained of some pain and coach Julian Nagelsmann had to replace him early. A French newspaper report revealed that Manet was already suffering from a severe hamstring injury. The newspaper added that Mane is expected to be out of the stadiums for several weeks, meaning he won’t be at the World Cup in Qatar either. Senegal coach Aliou Cisse is due to announce the list of players who will travel to Qatar next Friday.
The World Cup draw placed Senegal in Group A along with the Netherlands, Ecuador and Qatar.
