The Saudi Dakar Rally 2023 will feature 820 drivers and navigators from 68 countries.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host the fourth consecutive Dakar Rally 2023, which will feature 820 drivers and navigators representing 68 different nationalities. Riders start from the Al-Bahr camp on the Red Sea coast in December. 31 and will finish in Dammam on January 15, 2023.

Saudi Motorsports and Amory Sport, organizers of the rally, revealed details on December 1 about the most notable changes coming to this version as this year’s rally track consists of 14 stages in addition to the introductory stage. and the 45th edition of the Dakar Rally takes place in Saudi Arabia Participants in an adventure that stretches from the shores of the Red Sea, passing through the desert sands of the Kingdom, to Dammam on the coast of the Persian Gulf, where drivers Begin the journey with an orientation trip from the sea camp in the northwestern mountainous regions before heading to the extreme southeast, passing through Al-Ula, Hail, Al-Dawadmi, Riyadh, Harad, the Empty Quarter, Shaiba, Hofuf and Dammam.

820 drivers and navigators of 68 nationalities

The 2023 version of the Saudi Dakar Rally features a coast-to-coast track that takes participants on an adventure through areas that the Saudi Dakar Rally passes through for the first time since it arrived in the Kingdom, and this year’s version of the Saudi Dakar Rally attracted 820 drivers and navigators from 68 different countries, of which 188 drivers and navigators participated in the Dakar Classic category, and 634 drivers and navigators were divided into motorcycles, quads, cars, trucks, T3 and T4 cars.

Category distribution

455 cars take part in the Dakar Rally, including 125 in the motorcycle category, 19 in the ATV category, 73 in the car category, 56 in the truck category, 47 in the T3 category, 46 in the T4 category, AMA and 76 cars. in the Dakar Classic category and 13th in the Truck category

5 all-female crews

54 women take part in the Dakar rally, 34 of them in the Dakar Classic category, as well as 5 all-female crews.

The stages of the race will be as follows:

– Preliminary stage (Saturday, December 31): Camp Al-Bahr – Camp Al-Bahr, at a distance of 11 km.

Stage 1 (Sunday, January 1): Camp Al-Bahr – Camp Al-Bahr, 603 km circuit stage (special section: 368 km).

Stage 2 (Monday, January 2): Camp Al-Bahr – Al-Ula, 590 km (special section: 431 km).

Third stage (Tuesday, January 3): Al-Ula – Hail, 669 km (special section: 447 km).

Fourth stage (Wednesday, January 4): Grad – Grad, circular stage for a distance of 573 km (special section: 425 km).

Fifth stage (Thursday, January 5): Grad – Grad, 646 km round robin (special section: 375 km).

Stage six (Friday, January 6): Hail – Dawadmi, 877 km (Special section: 466 km).

Stage 7 (Saturday, January 7): Dawadmi – Davadmi, 641 km circuit stage (special section: 473 km).

Stage 8 (Sunday, January 8): Dawadmi – Riyadh, 722 km (special section: 407 km).

Rest day (January 8): Riyadh.

Stage 9 (Tuesday, January 10): Riyadh – Harad, 710 km (special section: 439 km).

Stage 10 (Wednesday, January 11): Harad Al Shaybah, 623 km (Special section: 114 km).

Eleventh stage (Thursday, January 12): Al-Shaybah – Al-Ardah, marathon stage, 426 km (special stage: 275 km).

Stage 12 (Friday, January 13): Al-Arda – Al-Shaiba, marathon stage, 375 km (special stage: 185 km).

Stage 13 (Saturday, January 14): Al-Shaybah – Al-Khufuf, 669 km (special section: 154 km).

Stage fourteen (Sunday, January 15): Al-Hofuf – Dammam, 414 km (special section: 136 km).
