Chargé d’Affaires of the US Embassy in Libya, Leslie Ordman, said in a tweet posted by the US Embassy via Twitter: “We fully support his efforts to engage in dialogue among Libyan political institutions, which would lead to faster Libyan access to elections, and we also echo his message about the need to find solutions to the current crisis.
Last Thursday, the Libyan Presidential Council announced that it had launched an initiative to resolve the Libyan crisis, which it said would set up a constitutional dialogue as a priority to complete the transitional phases.
The Presidential Council said in a statement: Launched under the slogan “The Presidential Council Approach to Breaking the Political Blockage and Achieving National Accord”, the initiative will be launched through a consultative meeting between the Presidential Council and the House of Representatives and the Supreme Council of State in consultation with the head of the United Nations Support Mission Abdullah Batili.
According to the statement, “This initiative is in line with the roadmap issued by the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum governing the stage, and is based on the moral responsibility of the Presidential Council and the desire to reach consensus among the House of Representatives. representatives and the Supreme Council of the State to issue a constitutional rule establishing parliamentary and presidential elections and resolving controversial issues. the Constitutional Declaration and the Hurghada Agreement, which took place between the two councils under the auspices of the United Nations and was hosted by Egypt.
