A Russian Azure Air plane with 244 people on board made an emergency landing at a military base in India due to a bomb warning, authorities said on Tuesday. The plane from Moscow, bound for Goa in southwest India, with 236 passengers and crew on board of eight at the Jamnagar base in Gujarat late on Monday evening.
Local media reported that the flight was changed after Azure Air received an email with information about a bomb on board. The Russian Embassy in India said that the Indian authorities notified him of this.
And the Russian embassy tweeted on Tuesday morning: “All people on board (the plane) are safe. Authorities are conducting a thorough search of the plane.”
The state police told Agence France Presse that an anti-terror unit is searching the aircraft and passengers’ luggage while they wait at the airport. “Nothing suspicious has been found so far,” Jamnagar police spokesman Premsuko Dollo said on Tuesday.
