Kylie Jenner showed up at the Schiaparelli Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2023 show with a giant lion’s head on her dress. The internet is still trying to get over it. But what was the best part of this instant classic? When Kylie was in the front row, Irina Shayk walked down the runway wearing almost the same outfit as Kylie. Which was probably the plan, but Kylie’s face said something different, and Twitter couldn’t handle it:

Even though they were fake, Kylie and Irina’s lion headdresses caused a stir because some people said they made big game hunting look cool. But PETA said in a statement yesterday that the looks “celebrate the beauty of wild animals and maybe a statement against trophy hunting, in which lions and wolves are torn apart to make people feel good about themselves.”
Irina also defended her dress on Instagram, saying, “I support these incredible artists who worked tirelessly with their hands, using wool, silk, and foam, to sculpt this embroidered lion, an image of pride. This is an image that @schiaparelli uses to explore themes of strength. I’m also proud that @danielroseberry asked me to contribute my art as a woman.

Kylie hasn’t said anything in response to critics, but she made it clear that the lion’s head was fake in her Instagram caption, writing, “BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. Thank you, @danielroseberry and @schiaparelli for such a special morning. Wow, i loved wearing this faux art creation constructed by hand using manmade materials. beautiful beautiful ????????????????.”
