The Al-Jufa Camel Auction generated 13 million riyals worth of deals in the first four days of its launch last Wednesday and will continue until the fifth of next Shaaban. It is organized by the emirate of the Al Jouf region in cooperation with the Camel Club at its headquarters in Nafud Layeh. Dr. Nawaf Al-Khalidi, Secretary General of the Supreme Committee, said that large and small transactions were concluded at the auction, ranging from one million rials to 5,000 rials, indicating that the number of owners participating in the auction has increased to 500 owners who own more than 7,000 camels present at the auction site, indicating that the goal is to reach 50 million rials on the days of the auction.
He drew attention to the fact that all types of camels are present at the auction sites, including wad, asfar, shaka, al-magahim and silks, which are typical for the El Jouf region.
Al-Khalidi pointed out that the main purpose of the auction is the sale and purchase of camels, but the auction was not limited to this, as the auction has a number of markets, including the market for productive families, the market for sheep, tents and fodder, carts with food, coffee and products of the Al-Juf region from dates and butter.
