The current Swift Lion exercise is taking place at several specialized training grounds of the Jordanian Armed Forces with the participation of 8 Arabs and 17 friends (in addition to the United States and Jordan as the host country).

Jordanian media quoted the director of military information, Mustafa Al-Khiyari, as saying that “Jordan’s borders are under control and stable, and mock border security exercises are conducted every year.”

Al-Khiyari also emphasized that “the nature of the problems that exist on the ground requires countries to come together side by side to solve all problems.”

More than 4,000 soldiers, as well as 1,000 civilians, will take part in the Swift Lion 2022 exercise as the exercise continuously simulates border security.

And the director of the Jordanian military media continued: “There is nothing to do with any crisis in the exercises, and we are in the process of developing them and participating in them.”

He pointed out that “there is great benefit in the exercises of the Impatient Lion”.

In addition to the elite group of the armed forces of Jordan, security services, ministries, governmental and non-governmental organizations, and a number of countries of the world take part in the exercises.

From 2011, Jordan will host the Aspiring Lion exercise; It is held at various training grounds of the armed forces, as well as in a number of schools and training centers.

Forces from various land, air and sea armaments also participate, in addition to participants from crisis management institutions, ministries and security agencies.

Typically, the exercises were either bilateral between the Jordanian and American armies, or jointly with other countries, as in previous versions.
