Chairman of the Iraqi Parliament, Chairman of the Union of Arab Parliaments Muhammad al-Khalbusi opened today in Baghdad the work of the thirty-fourth conference of the Union of Arab Parliaments under the slogan “Arab support for strengthening the stability and sovereignty of Iraq.” Al-Khalbousi emphasized that the Baghdad conference represents an important step in strengthening relations between the Arab countries, citing the importance of Arab support in moving forward towards a secure Iraq, a stable Middle East and an Arab homeland that is growing and developing in accordance with the requirements of the current and future stage.
The President of the Union of Arab Parliaments stressed Iraq’s rejection of the attacks by the Israeli occupying forces on the Palestinian brothers, reaffirming his country’s firm and principled position on the Palestinian issue, as well as the right of the Palestinians to establish their independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds.
