A delegation from the Eastern Province Senior Citizens’ Association, which in addition to the members of the Association’s Sports Committee included a number of Board members, visited the mighty Saudi coach Khalil Ibrahim Al-Zayani at his home in Al-Mazrouya District in Dammam to check on him and congratulate him following the decision of the Eastern Region Secretariat to name one of the streets of the Al-Mazruyya district after the coach Khalil Al-Zayani as one of the pioneers of the sport. movement in the kingdom.
The president of the association, Mr. Muhammad Al-Qarnas, granted the coach Al-Zayani membership in the association to become one of its active members.
Coach Khalil Al-Zayani expressed his great satisfaction to the delegation of the association with this visit, saying: “This is one of the happiest meetings in which he remembered the wonderful situations that he experienced when he was the coach of the Saudi Arabian team in the 1984 A.D. Asian Cup ., in addition to the clubs he oversaw, such as Al-Ittifaq, Al-Qadisiyah and Al-Hilal and Renaissance.
At the end of his speech, coach Khalil Al-Zayani expressed gratitude and appreciation to the board of directors of the association for granting him membership in order to become one of the active members of the association.
For his part, the President of the Society, Mr. Muhammad Al-Qarnas, described this visit as a brotherly visit to a well-known figure among sports fans in the Kingdom, where he said: – a well-known figure in the Kingdom and the countries of the Persian Gulf, and the name of the street after him is a tribute to him respect for the effort he has put into Saudi sport and in commemoration of the achievements he has made with the Saudi national team which is still stuck. in the minds of Saudi sports fans, despite the fact that more than 30 years have passed.
Al-Qarnas concluded his speech by saying: Giving coach Khalil Al-Zayani membership in the association is a tribute to him as one of the pioneers of the sports movement in the Kingdom.
