The Abu Dhabi Police have warned of the danger of illegal passenger transport and its negative consequences for their safety and security and has urged drivers of private vehicles not to engage in passenger transport without the permission of the competent authorities.

Colonel Mubarak Awad bin Mahirom, director of the Transportation Security Department, said the Abu Dhabi Police have stepped up inspection campaigns to crack down on such violations. He pointed out that the use of a vehicle to transport passengers without a license is punishable by a fine of 3,000 dirhams, arrest of the vehicle for 30 days and 24 penalty points.
