Swimming and karate competitions within the framework of the 18th Spartakiad of the Armed Forces ended today at the first stage, which was held at the King Faisal Air Base in Tabuk, at the second stage, and the ground forces team took third place.
Major General Pilot Ibrahim bin Faleh Al-Sultan, commander of the King Faisal Air Base in the northern sector, crowned the winners of gold, silver and bronze medals and prizes awarded to them, and also honored the judges of the championship.
In karate competitions, the Air Force team also won the first place, the Ground Forces team took the second place, and the Air Defense Forces team took the third place.
The Commander of the Imam Faisal bin Turki I Brigade Group, Major General Fahd bin Saad Al-Kuhaiz, honored the winners of the prizes allocated to them, thanking them for their distinguished entries during the tournament.
In addition, the competitions of the XVIII Spartakiad of the Armed Forces will continue in the first stage in shooting, volleyball and football (halls) and will last until February 04, 2023.
It is noteworthy that the course, which involves more than three thousand athletes representing the Ground Forces, Air Force, Navy, Air Defense Forces, Strategic Missile Forces, the Main Directorate of the Service, is designed to bring athletes together against the backdrop of fair competition, which reveals many physical qualities, develops and hones skills, individual and collective, and enabling athletes to participate in tournaments and sports competitions of various internal and external levels, and will be held in three stages, the first stage in the northwestern region (Tabuk) and its competitions are currently held at King Faisal Air Base, and the second stage in the eastern region (Dhahran), and the first stage is the third in the northern region (Hafar Al-Batin), and it includes group and individual games, namely: archery, swimming, karate, volleyball, football, football, running cross country, basketball, handball, athletics, table tennis, taekwondo, judo and weightlifting.
