Yemeni Information Minister Muammar al-Eryani pointed out that the Tehran regime’s escalation of arms smuggling operations for terrorist Houthi militias is a flagrant violation of international laws and resolutions.

This comes after the US Fifth Fleet announced the interception of an Iranian ship carrying 70 tons of ammonium chlorate used to make rocket fuel and 100 tons of explosive urea fertilizer on its way to Houthi militias.

In a statement to the official Yemeni News Agency (Saba), Minister Al-Eryani said the US Navy and the Yemeni Coast Guard had previously seized a number of smuggling cells, arms shipments and materials used in the production of ballistic missiles and drones. who were heading towards the Houthis terrorist group without any action from the international community. He pointed out that the Iranian regime has played an important role in recent years in undermining efforts to establish a truce and prolong the war and crisis in Yemen by using the Houthi terrorist militias to carry out its destructive policies against neighboring countries, destabilize the security and stability of the region, and a threat to energy security and global navigational traffic in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandab.

The Yemeni Minister of Information called on the international community, the United Nations and the permanent members of the Security Council to fulfill their legal obligations to end the actions of the Iranian regime and its Houthi militias in Yemen, which threaten regional and international peace and security. and hold him accountable for flagrant violations of Security Council resolution 2216 and international laws and covenants.
