Iraqi Prime Minister, responsible for the formation of the government, Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani promised not to allow the theft of citizens’ money. Al-Sudani said yesterday in a tweet via his Twitter account: “We will not hesitate to take real action to curb the corruption that has brazenly spread at the junctions of the state and its institutions.”
The Iraqi Prime Minister added: “We have put this file at the top of our program.” Al-Sudani continued: “We will not allow the money of the Iraqis to be robbed, as happened with the funds of the General Revenue Office in Rafidain Bank.”
This is due to a directive from Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kazemi to launch an investigation into violations in the process of paying tax deposits in the Ministry of Finance.
