The Libyan social media saw an avalanche of comments Wednesday after Hezbollah and the Lebanese military presented their alpine skills in two propaganda videos broadcast almost simultaneously.
Some users even jokingly referred to the ongoing Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.
Iran-backed Hezbollah seemed eager to demonstrate that it was undeterred by recent heavy snowfall in a slick two-minute production released late Tuesday that soon started trending on social media.

Hezbollah fighters, having swapped their usual colors for all white snow camouflage gears are seen making target practice on skis and snowmobiles near the southern border of Lebanon with Israel.
Also on Tuesday, the Lebanese army released a video showing son alpine unit performing exercises in the snow.
Hezbollah is often portrayed as a state within a state, and rival videos have reignited the debate on if the Shiite paramilitaries organization could surpass the national army.
Many on social media offered comparative analyzes and style notes, while others drew parallels with the biathlon events at the Winter Olympics currently In progress in Beijing.
Some even suggested that Hezbollah was preparing to help Russian troops in a invasion of Ukraine.
The Jerusalem Post expanded the contest to include Israel’s Alpine Unit and asked, without answering the question, if Hezbollah’s snow plows were a match.
Israel and the Shia movement fought a short but devastating war in Lebanon in 2006.
