An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale occurred off the coast of the Kamchatka Territory in the Russian Kuril Islands.

According to the Russian Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk seismological station, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 62 km, and its epicenter was located 294 km southwest of the city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Kamchatka Territory.
