An earthquake of magnitude 5.7 hit the Solomon Islands in the Pacific Ocean.

An earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale hit the Solomon Islands in the Pacific today.

The US Geological Survey said the quake’s epicenter occurred 80 km southeast of Lata, in the Solomon Islands, at a depth of 93 km.

There were no reports of property or human damage as a result of the earthquake, and the possibility of a tsunami was not made.
