An earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale rocked the northern Philippines, injuring 26 people and damaging homes and public infrastructure.
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, the quake struck on Tuesday at 10:59 (14:59 GMT) near the city of Lagayan in Abra province, 348 km north of Manila.
Some affected provinces were left without power while homes and buildings were damaged, according to an initial assessment, while a hospital was evacuated in the neighboring province of Ilocos Norte after a roof collapsed, photos released by the Fire Protection Bureau show.
The National Disaster Agency said some roads were cut off due to rockfalls or cracks.
