Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said that the possibility of holding a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is related to the basic conditions, and “if they are met, then there is no specific date for Erdogan’s meeting … it could be today or tomorrow.” .”

Al-Assad explained in an interview with RT that the problem in Syrian-Turkish relations is caused by Turkish politicians and their ambitions, which they want to achieve through war.

And about whether the earthquake affected the Syrian and Turkish peoples, and whether this humanitarian catastrophe can accelerate the opening of a new page, the Syrian president said that the only earthquake that can change this situation, to which relations have reached today due to Turkish politicians, is Earthquake elections, which is preparing to organize Turkey.

Regarding the possibility of holding a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Syrian President said that any political meeting should lead to concrete results, and made it clear that Syria’s priorities are the withdrawal of all illegal Turkish and American forces and the end of support for terrorist organizations.

The Syrian president said that “the recent Turkish proposal, which was put forward during the quadripartite meeting at the level of assistant foreign ministers, should have no agenda, no preconditions, no expectations, explaining that Damascus insists on the need for an agenda.” The meeting, the most important of which is the discussion of the withdrawal of Turkish troops from Syria.

He explained that “there is no truth in promoting Syria only with maximum conditions, but there is a permanent, national, and not political demand, which is to withdraw from Syrian territory.”
