Spanish football club Atlético Madrid announced today, Sunday, in an official statement the departure of their Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez at the end of the current season.
Atlético Madrid stated on their official Twitter account: “After the end of the match against Sevilla, tonight we will say goodbye to Suarez at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium.
And Atlético Madrid will host the Sevilla team on Sunday evening at their Wanda Metropolitano stadium in the top matches of the 37th penultimate round of the league.
And press reports indicated that Suarez offered himself to his former club Barcelona to return to him next summer.
Suarez, 35, joined Atlético Madrid in the summer of 2020 from Barcelona following the decision by former Catalan manager Ronald Koeman to turn him down.
Luis Suárez made 81 appearances for Roja Blancos in all competitions, in which he scored 34 goals, scoring 6 more and led Atlético Madrid in his first season to the Spanish league crown.
