Barcelona have officially announced the signing of Danish defender Andreas Christensen on a free transfer after the end of his contract with Chelsea.
Barcelona’s official statement reads: “Barcelona have reached an agreement with Andreas Christensen and the player will sign by the summer of 2026 with a release clause of 500 million euros.”
He added: “Barcelona will introduce Christensen next Thursday where he will sign at Sports City and then wear the club’s jersey at the Tito Vilanova stadium before holding his press conference.”
Christensen, 26, helped Chelsea win the Champions League title in 2020/2021, as well as the Club World Cup and European Super Cup in 2021.
Earlier today on Monday, Barcelona announced the signing of AC Milan’s Ivorian midfielder Frank Kessy on a free transfer following the end of his contract with AC Milan.
