Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo was not happy with his team’s match between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, although his team won it 2-0.
Ronaldo remained on the bench for the 12th round of the English Premier League on Wednesday night at the Red Devils’ stadium at Old Trafford.
But the Portuguese star left Old Trafford on the bench through a tunnel before the end of the match, in what many felt was disrespectful to his colleagues and manager Eric Ten Hag.
During the match, the camera captured Ronaldo, who seemed to be very offended by not scoring and not scoring.
Coach Ten Hag used only 3 player substitutions out of 5 in the match, which means that he could have called Ronaldo, especially since the match was not yet over when the latter left the field 5 minutes before it ended.
Ten Hag, who has a bad relationship with Ronaldo, said in a press statement after the match: “We will resolve this issue on Thursday. I saw him leave, but I didn’t talk to him after that.”
The coach’s speech was made in response to the question of whether the 37-year-old Ronaldo had the right to leave the field ahead of schedule.
Ten Hag said he doesn’t care about the player’s behavior and instead wants to focus on a team that has done well with their 11 players.
