Today, Monday, the Lebanese media reported that a depositor broke into a bank on Hamra Street in the center of the capital city of Beirut, demanding the return of his financial deposit from the bank.
The Lebanese Depositors Association reported that one of the depositors broke into the branch of Byblos Bank Hamra while security forces tried to force him out. There have been many bank hacks in Lebanon in recent months, including about 8 hacks in one day. As a result, the Banking Association announced a 3-day closure for security reasons, stating that “the continuation of the policy of indifference means the continuation of the policy of storming the banks.”
