US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that the relationship between his country and the Kingdom is important and has been going on for decades, noting that Saudi Arabia has provided great support to Ukraine in confronting the war with Russia. Blinken confirmed that Washington is working with Riyadh to end the war in Yemen.

He said that Iranian youth are defending their basic rights in the face of the Tehran regime, pointing out that America is now focused on the Iranian regime’s suppression of its people on the streets. He pointed out that America stands with the Iranian people “and we leave the decision of regime change to them,” adding that “the Iranian regime is instilling in its people the idea that America wants regime change.”
In another context, he stressed that Iran supports Russia in its war against Ukraine and provides it with marches and other weapons, expressing concern that Iran is providing Russia with marches and missiles.
He stressed that the US president reiterated his determination not to acquire nuclear weapons from Iran, explaining that there are all options on the negotiating table to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
He pointed out that Washington has punished all those responsible for the repression in Iran, stressing that his country continues to look for ways to stop Iran’s malign activities. With regard to the Libyan case, he made it clear that Washington supports the holding of elections in Libya at this stage, stressing that there is an urgent need for a clear and legitimate government that represents the Libyan people.
He said that the UN envoy to Libya has a plan for early participation in the elections, noting that the preservation of the unity of Libya is possible only through elections that express the interests of the people.
While on the Syrian dossier, he renewed the American stance, rejecting any normalization of relations with the regime of Bashar al-Assad, believing that any military operation in Syria would divert efforts to fight ISIS.
However, he said, “Turkey has legitimate security interests in Syria and we do not agree with that.”
