A spokesperson for the British armed forces stated that “many British soldiers may have missed their service and may have gone to Ukraine”.
“We are aware of the small number of soldiers who disobeyed orders and disappeared without permission, and it is possible that they went to Ukraine in person. We strongly urge them to return to the UK.”
The spokesperson pointed out that the military is prohibited from traveling to Ukraine. Otherwise, they face disciplinary and administrative penalties.
And the Ukrainian president had earlier announced the beginning of the formation of the so-called “International Legion” to fight against the Russian forces in Ukraine. Zelensky also decided to exempt foreigners who came to the country to take part in the war from entry visas.
British Foreign Secretary Elizabeth Truss said her country supports the Ukrainian president’s call for foreigners to fight as part of the so-called “International Legion” in Ukraine.
