In a new and noteworthy development, a third front appeared for the first time in the Muslim Brotherhood, which had previously been divided between the Istanbul Front led by Mahmud Hussein and the London Front led by Ibrahim Munir.
A third current announced its emergence under the name “Movement for Change” to put into practice, in its words, the teachings of Hassan al-Banna and Sayyid Qutb.
He also convened a general conference in Turkey on Saturday under the slogan “In the time of martyrs, declare yourself and issue a so-called political document.”
It started a year ago
According to the information, this front began its activities secretly a year ago, criticizing the practice of two opposing fronts, calling for the restoration of youth leadership roles within the organization in the future.
As for the leadership of this trend, then, according to available information, it is taken over by Muhammad Kamal, an official in charge of specific cells in the organization.
Among the members of this group are Muhammad Montaser, a former representative of the group, as well as Reda Fahmy, Amr Darraj, Hamza Zobaa, Jamal Abdel Sattar and Amr Ham, as well as Ahmed Maulana, a member of the Salafi Front.
This trend is aimed at controlling the two opposing fronts, forming groups to revive the thought of Sayyid Qutb, Muhammad Qutb and Muhammad Kamal, and putting into practice the commandments of the spiritual father of a particular group, Mahmud Ezzat.
It is noteworthy that the conflict between the two fronts of Istanbul and London has recently seen a temporary lull, after each of them claimed to have received a message of support and support from the group’s guide, located in Egyptian prisons, Mohammed Badi. The Istanbul Front confirmed that they had received a message from the leader of support for their leader Mahmud Hussein and demanded that he stop any disagreements in the ranks of the organization and make every effort to resolve the detainee crisis, which was also mentioned by the London Front!
Officially, the split began last December (2021) with the announcement by the Istanbul Front of the duties of the general conductor of the group for a period of 6 months (noting that the disagreement had surfaced months before), but the secret document later showed that the cracks had started since 2016!
