On the other hand, the results of the bulletin showed that the overall wholesale price index for August 2022 rose by 5.6% compared to its 2021 counterpart, lower than the previous month (July 2022), which amounted to 6.8%, and the increase in the index was mainly due to an increase in prices for metal products and machinery and equipment by +3.2%.
According to the results of the bulletin, in the section of metal products, machinery and equipment, an increase in wholesale prices by 3.2% was recorded as a result of an increase in prices for general-purpose machines by 10.2%, and prices for manufactured metal products by 6.9%, and in the section of other transport cargo recorded an increase of 4.8% as a result of an increase in prices for basic chemicals by 12.5% and prices for petroleum products by 3.5%, while in the section food, beverages, tobacco and textiles increased by 8.8%; Affected by the increase in prices for meat, fish, fruits and vegetables, oils and fats by (22.3%), as well as prices for cereals, starch and other food products by (5.5%), as well as the section of agricultural and fish products, an increase was recorded by 15% as a result of an increase in prices for agricultural products by 18.3%, prices for livestock rose by 8.7%, and the category of raw materials and minerals increased by 6%; As a result of the increase in prices for stones and sand by 6%.
