Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini has confirmed his departure from the club at the end of the current season after his side lost 2-4 to Inter in the Coppa Italia final following Wednesday’s extension.
The captain of the old lady announced that he would play the last two matches for his team in the local league before saying goodbye to the team’s fans.
“We’ve had 10 great years at Juventus and it’s time for the young people to take over,” Chiellini said.
Chiellini, 37, did not confirm whether he would retire permanently, saying: “I should think about it with my family.
Chiellini has won the championship with Juventus 9 times since joining the team in 2004.
