China officially launched its third aircraft carrier on Friday during a ship landing ceremony at a shipyard in Shanghai, CCTV reported.
The aircraft carrier was named “Fujian” after the Chinese province, it is the second aircraft carrier built entirely in China and much more advanced than the previous two aircraft carriers. It will not be handed over to the fleet until it has passed several tests at sea.
